Dangerous Duo

LONDON, | DAN THE SCOUT, | boys, | fashion, | girls — Dan The Scout @ 6:00 pm

I spotted this elegant pair striding with great purpose towards Rick Owens newly opened London boutique in South Audley street, Mayfair.Their striking faces first caught my eye, but it was the artfully layered grunge finery that made me break their stride for this haphazard snapshot. How could i pass by a boy in one of my favourite pieces of DRKSHDW SS08 and a girl in leather leggings?

Felipe in the fields

LONDON, | DAN THE SCOUT, | boys — Dan The Scout @ 5:42 pm

As the sun shone in London this weekend, Felipe channeled a springtime look that was subtle and fresh.
Pale blue Acne denim rolled to the ankle was paired with a boxy grey blazer – both cool separates that spoke an easy sophistication.
Coffee-coloured Lanvin sneakers and a washed blue silk scarf carried the subdued palette, while cheeky fuschia socks were a pop of fun colour!

Sachiko on South Molton Street

Leggings – check

It-bag – check
Shift dress – check
Black blazer – check

Contrived and boring – not at all!

It is not often i find a girl who can mix these fashion staples in a fresh and individual way, but Sachiko manages to pull this look off with a funky and unusual flair.
The proportions suit her shape perfectly – the cropped puffy-collar jacket balances the knee length white T-shirt dress, and the heel of her shoe continues the line of the leggings, lengthening her legs.
The Demeulemeester heels are chunky yet delicately laced, and more classic than the  architectural juggernaut shoes that are threatening innocent ankles everywhere!
Her oversized Balenciaga tote looks well loved, and completes her no-fuss outfit success.

Koji cuts it sharp in London

LONDON, | DAN THE SCOUT, | boys — Dan The Scout @ 8:19 am

To tell you the truth, I didn’t have to look too hard to find Koji – he kind of stood out walking along Bond Street!

I love his lounge-lizard cool, a totally individual vibe of East vs West dandy punk. Polka dots, primary colours, aviators and trainers make for a heady sartorial combination – but with that fierce hairdo and attitude to match, this Tokyo hairdresser truly pulls it off.

Romain

PARIS, | DAN THE SCOUT, | boys — Dan The Scout @ 7:57 am

Fall Winter 09/10 is all about shoulders [as any fashion editor worth their Louboutins will tell you] and Romain channeled that vibe before Paris Fashion Week had even drawn to a close.

The cropped body and constructed shoulder of his vintage Balenciaga jacket lent an equestrian, military air to an otherwise casual and modern black ensemble.Chestnut brown John Lobb boots are an elegant addition [and match his curls!].

I photographed Romain, artistic director of RA boutique, in between showroom appointments buying collections for the store [opening in Antwerp in September this year].
